Never Lose Work: Undo & Redo for Document Editor

Full undo and redo support in the document editor. Make mistakes confidently knowing you can always go back.

What Changed

BrainBox's document editor now supports unlimited undo and redo operations.

How It Works

  • Undo: Cmd/Ctrl+Z reverts your last change
  • Redo: Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z re-applies undone changes
  • History: Each editing session maintains its own history
  • What's Tracked

    Every change is tracked:
  • Text insertions and deletions
  • Formatting changes
  • Block movements
  • Table modifications
  • Smart Grouping

    Related changes are grouped intelligently:
  • Typing within a few seconds is grouped
  • Distinct actions (like formatting) are separate
  • Paste operations are single undo steps
  • Why It Matters

Mistakes happen. Undo/redo gives you the confidence to experiment knowing you can always go back. It's a fundamental feature that makes editing stress-free.

    Technical Details

We use ProseMirror's history plugin with custom configuration for optimal grouping behavior. History is stored in memory and clears when you navigate away.
